While many of the images of this new work are included in the 'old work' galleries, this page features not only the images in the order that the art-quilts came into being, but a bit about my introspective process, thoughts and the co-creative inspiration behind each piece.
HOW I WORK-
Quilting is a contemplative meditation practice for me. I hold something in my awareness that I want to understand, heal or explore and then I listen intuitively and respond in each moment to the inspiration I receive. Because I never plan a piece, this co-creative process is very much like a dance between self and spirit. The awareness that comes through often takes me by surprise as much as the finished pieces. This way of working has enhanced and honed my intuitive abilities as well as my creativity. I love Socrates exclamation that the unexamined life is not worth living. This quest is primary in my life. The work that comes out of that exploration is simply an extension of this introspective transmutation process.
